Individualized Treatment
1
First and foremost, we will have a consultation to discuss your health and wellness goals and what treatments might be best to achieve them. During the consultation, we’ll talk about whether we think an InBody scan is right for you.
2
Once we determine an InBody scan in Overland Park is right for you, we’ll have you stand on the scanner. It will have metal plates for your bare feet and metal handle bars for you to hold onto. The machine conducts small currents of electricity, and it reports how well those currents travelled through your body. That information will tell us how much of you is made from fat, muscle, bone, and more!
3
Based on the information provided from the InBody scan, we’ll be able to better determine where you are in your health and wellness journey and what treatments would best work to achieve your goals. We can use this test multiple times throughout your time with MaxLife, so we can best keep track of your body composition and adjust treatment if necessary.
Pre-Care
Avoid Eating
Avoid eating 3–4 hours before your test, so you can get the most accurate results.
No Metal
Do not wear clothing with metal, and be prepared to remove all jewelry and piercings.
No Exercising
Do not exercise for 6–12 hours before testing to ensure accurate results.
Post-Care
There are no post-test instructions you’ll need to worry about—you can return to normal life immediately after your InBody scan. We’ll simply suggest scheduling another appointment within 2–4 weeks to ensure you’re on track with your wellness journey.
We recommend taking a body composition analysis every 2 to 4 weeks to accurately monitor your health progress.
Your weight fluctuates depending on how many meals and how much water you’ve had that day, as well as other factors, including exercise, bowel movements, and menstrual cycles. The body composition analysis gives you the most accurate picture of your body since it can account for factors like these in your results. We advise taking your recurrent tests under the same testing conditions for the highest accuracy.
The InBody scan has been shown to be 98% as accurate as a DEXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) scan—all without the radiation!
